Dr Sonwabile Dzanibe is a Senior Research Officer in the Division of Immunology, where his work focuses on paediatric immunology and vaccine development. He obtained his PhD in 2017 from the University of the Witwatersrand and subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in immunology at the University of Cape Town. He holds a Y2 NRF rating and currently leads the Systems Serology and Vaccine Development Research Group, which investigates immune correlates of protection in early life and contributes to vaccine design strategies. His research integrates systems immunology approaches to advance understanding of infant immunity and development of next generation vaccines.
