The Bioinformatics Facility provides comprehensive support for biomedical data management and analysis, assisting researchers and clinicians with data processing, interpretation, and workflow optimisation. It also offers training opportunities and collaborates closely with IDM staff and postgraduate students to develop novel analytical methods.
Equipped to set up, run, and optimise pipelines, the facility is led by the IDM Bioinformatician, with additional expertise from Computational Biology Division staff, including contributors from the Wellcome Discovery Platform. This ensures researchers have access to cutting-edge bioinformatics tools and methodologies tailored to their scientific needs.
The facility offers bioinformatics support across the data life cycle from data collection mechanisms to data processing, analysis and interpretation. Support is provided in the form of provision of computational tools, access to computing, and collaborative analysis and interpretation of data. We strongly recommend that the team is consulted at the experimental design phase of a project to ensure efficient support.
