Our Members

Full membership to the IDM is for researchers who are fully committed to conducting their research in the IDM, preferably accommodated in the IDM complex, for 5-year terms, which are renewable.

Associate membership at the IDM is open to emerging researchers who are fully committed to conducting their research within the Institute. Appointments are for renewable three-year terms and are subject to specific eligibility criteria.

This membership category aims to support the career development of early- and mid-career researchers by fostering their association with the IDM and its scholarly community.

Affiliate membership is intended for UCT-based researchers located outside the IDM complex whose research aligns with the Institute’s focus and activities. This category offers supplementary membership.

Adjunct membership is for researchers employed by other institutions who collaborate with IDM Members to the extent that some of their own staff and/or postgraduate students may work within the IDM; for 3-year terms, which are renewable.
