Dr Smritee Dabee is a Research Scientist at the Seattle Children’s Research Institute in Seattle.
Before that, she spent 10 years at the University of Cape Town, where she completed her BSc, MSc and PhD. During that time, she worked on multiple projects including looking at the effect of antiretrovirals on genital T-cell immunity and identifying factors associated with increased inflammation and HIV risk among young women. Her current work focuses on understanding the influence of STIs and contraceptive use on the genital microbiota of women in sub-Saharan Africa.
