Dr. Ingrid T. Katz is a nationally recognized physician-scientist and Director of the Yale Institute for Global Health, leading the expansion of global health research, clinical and educational initiatives across Yale, in partnership with the Jackson School of Global Affairs. with joint appointments at the Yale School of Medicine and Yale School of Public Health and Diplomacy at the U.S. Department of State.
An infectious diseases specialist, her work focuses on HIV care and equitable health systems across Southern Africa and Southeast Asia, with long-standing research partnerships in South Africa, including the University of Cape Town and University of the Witwatersrand, and recognition from UNAIDS.
Her contributions have been recognized with the A. Clifford Barger Excellence in Mentoring Award and the Dean’s Award for an Emerging Leader in Women’s Careers. Previously, she spent 16 years at Harvard Medical School, helping lead major global health initiatives.
