Seminar Program: What human studies are teaching us about TB

Tom Scriba (PhD) is Professor in the Division of Immunology, Department of Pathology and Deputy Director Immunology at the South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative (SATVI). He trained in biological sciences at Stellenbosch University and obtained a DPhil (PhD) in T-cell immunology at Oxford University. Dr Scriba’s research interests include immunopathogenesis of infectious disease, and in particular Mycobacterium tuberculosis, development of novel TB vaccines, and discovery of immune correlates of risk of TB disease and correlates of protection against M.tb infection and TB disease.
