Speaker

Zoltan Maliga, PhD is a staff research scientist and director of the Tissue Imaging Platform at the Laboratory of Systems Pharmacology (Harvard Medical School) with interests and expertise spanning immunology, microscopy, systems biology and biophysics.

He graduated with undergraduate degrees in chemistry and biology from MIT, received a PhD in biophysics from Harvard University and post-doctoral training at the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden, Germany.

 His current research focus is integration of multimodal imaging approaches to investigate tumor immunology, host-pathogen interactions and response to therapy in clinical samples and animal models. He is building a public-facing atlas of human pulmonary tuberculosis and post-TB lung disease as part of a multi-center collaboration funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Dr Maliga is supported by a Research Specialist Award from the US National Cancer Institute and currently works with Professor Peter Sorger to support cancer research.
