Lara Dugas, PhD, MPH, FTOS is the AXA Research Chair in Non-Communicable Disease Epidemiology, hosted at the University of Cape Town (2021-2026), and an Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Public Health Sciences, Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health, Loyola University Chicago. Her research focuses on the relationship between the gut microbiota and non-communicable disease risk in African origin populations, and more recently on the intersection between non-communicable and infectious diseases.
