Please join us to hear about Eh!woza, a public engagement project which runs out of the IDM.
Through a collaboration involving IDM-based biomedical researchers, artists, and anthropologists, Eh!woza engages young people with TB biomedical research and provides them with the skills and equipment to make documentary films which tell stories about the personal and social impact of tuberculosis (TB).
The project, which started as a once-off initiative of a group of PhD students and has grown to attract local and international funding, works at the intersection of public engagement, education and youth activism. In this lunchtime seminar, we will describe how Eh!woza started, current work, and future directions, as well as providing insight into the anthropological research which has been enabled by the project.
Everyone is welcome - we look forward to seeing you there.
