Human Resources at the IDM

The IDM’s Human Resources function is a vital enabler of institutional success, ensuring that our people are supported, aligned with UCT’s frameworks, and empowered to grow. The IDM HR team comprises a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and an HR Administrator. Together, they support staff across a range of HR services, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and development.

Evolving the HR Function

Human Resources at IDM intersects with multiple central UCT departments—Business Partnering, Administration, and Payroll—all of which specialise in distinct HR functions. To better navigate and integrate these areas, the IDM has recently strengthened its internal capacity through the appointment of an Institute HR Specialist and administrative support. This marks significant progress in streamlining HR processes and building a robust foundation for continued growth, operational stability, and improved service delivery.
