The Division of Immunology Histology Core Facility, located at Groote Schuur Hospital (Room J50), specializes in the processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining of formalin-fixed or frozen tissue for research purposes. The facility supports a variety of samples, including mouse, human, rat, pig, duck, and primate tissues.
Researchers have access to 10+ routine histochemical staining procedures, with additional staining methods available upon request. The facility also offers Immunohistochemistry (Brightfield/DAB) and Immunofluorescence staining. Beyond sample processing, training is provided for researchers to independently learn tissue processing, sectioning, and staining techniques
