The Crick Africa Network (CAN), has awarded eight African Career Acceleration Fellowships to researchers focusing on health challenges like HIV, tuberculosis, and sleeping sickness. These fellowships, supported by LifeArc, aim to assist African researchers in transitioning to independent roles and establishing careers in Africa.

Among the eight recipients is IDM Fellow, Dr. Munyaradzi Musvosvi, who will collaborate with teams at the the Francis Crick Institute and University of Cape Town to develop a cartridge for diagnosing TB and assessing the risk of TB progression. Dr. Musvosvi aims to create a microfluidic-based immune platform to monitor T cell responses to TB.
