Dr Bosinger received his PhD from the University of Western Ontario in Microbiology & Immunology and has focused on studying the pathogenic events in early HIV and SIV infection.  He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania from 2008-2010. In 2010 he moved to Emory University and was appointed to the department of Pathology & Lab Medicine. His recent research interests have been focused on developing novel genomic technologies to follow individual B cell lineages after vaccination, and in understanding how African primates that are natural hosts for SIV are resistant to developing AIDS-like disease after infection
