Dr Pauline van der Watt

Research Officer

With a PhD in Medical Biochemistry, Pauline’s research focusses on investigating the link between the circadian clock and cancer, at the molecular level. An improved understanding of how the circadian clock is altered in cancer cells can impact chronotherapy (the timing of administration of chemotherapy), improving the efficacy of current chemotherapies. Additionally, targeting the circadian clock with small molecules can have an anti-tumourigenic effect. Other research interests include investigating the nuclear transport proteins in cancer and their potential as diagnostic and therapeutic markers.
