Charlotte obtained her medical degree in 2000 and worked mainly in public sector hospitals for 10 years before joining CIDRI as a research medical officer in 2011. She completed an MPH (Clinical Research) at UCT in 2012 and is currently completing a PhD evaluating determinants of mortality in hospitalised patients with HIV-associated tuberculosis with the aim to develop improved treatment strategies to increase survival.
